Becoming a certified foster (resource) parent in Oregon means providing a safe home to a child in the care of the Department of Human Services. First-aid and CPR training is required for certain placements and is a valuable part of preparing to care for any child.
急救要求
Under Oregon's resource-home certification rules (OAR Chapter 413, Division 200), applicants and foster providers who care for a child with significant medical needs must hold current first-aid and CPR certification from a recognized training agency, appropriate to the age of the child; youth-offender foster homes must also hold a valid CPR/first-aid certificate. For other placements, the training counts toward the required hours and is widely expected.
This is recognized by the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS). Foster parents complete 30 hours of training every two years to maintain certification, and any required certificate must be kept current. It is one requirement in addition to the home study, background checks and the assessment of parenting suitability.
